* S&A Window Cleaning – Pembrokeshire Hosepipe Ban update *

I really hope that this update finds you and your family keeping safe and well during this particularly hot spell of weather. Below I have the latest S&A Window Cleaning update on if the Pembrokeshire Hosepipe Ban will affect Window Cleaning.

When I visit to clean your windows, all the water used is drawn from an internal tank mounted within my van. Although I do not need to use a hosepipe to clean windows when at work, I do have to refill and filter my water each night once my work for the day is complete. The water has to be specially filtered and purified to become Pure Water which is then used to clean windows. This process does pull water from my hosepipe at home. To obtain clarification on how the Hosepipe Ban might affect me and my customers, I have contacted Dŵr Cymru to seek further direction during the consultation period for businesses that commenced from the 10th of August.

Guidance issued by Dŵr Cymru…

The advice received, is that I am able continue to work and use water as normal. This is because all water used is within a business setting. Guidance issued by Dŵr Cymru shares exemptions to the Hosepipe Ban, as stated below:

“Commercial customers that use hosepipes as part of their business for some TUB categories, e.g. hand car washing, window cleaning, graffiti removal.”

Realising that some of my customers may be concerned about my ability to continue cleaning their windows, I am delighted to say that I will be continuing to carry out cleaning on my usual schedule.

I am also conscious of trying to do what I can to eliminate water wastage during my work. As such, I have always used tools and equipment that allow me to shut off the water supply when I am not actively cleaning or rinsing down my customers windows. By following these precautions, I do my very best to help conserve water and look after this precious resource – all year round.

I hope this post has helped to answer any questions you may have about the Pembrokeshire Hosepipe Ban, and if will this affect Window Cleaning. If you are looking for a regular window cleaner at this time, or have any further questions that I can help with please feel free to reach out and contact me here, and I will do my very best to see how I might be able to assist you.

Thank you to all my customers for their continued help and support.

Kind regards,

Sam
