Professional Gutter Cleaning

Sam uses a safe and effective way to empty your gutters using the skyVac system…

Gutter Cleaning in Pembrokeshire

Having your gutters cleaned may not be something that is always on your mind until you have a problem, but regular gutter maintenance is essential.

Gutters are designed to collect and guide rainwater off the roof and down into your drains. They take water away from your home and thus prevent potential structural damage caused by rainwater being unable to drain from your roof. When your gutters become clogged or damaged, it can result in expensive repairs. I offer gutter emptying in Pembrokeshire to help you carry out this maintenance. Carry on reading to learn more about how I can safely empty your gutters for you, and tips on what to look out for when obtaining quotes.

First steps…

1) Remote survey

Every home has unique access and requirements for gutter cleaning. In order to get an accurate quotation for your home, I have found the best way is to arrange a visit to carry out a gutter survey. At a time convenient to you, I will visit your home and perform a remote inspection using a wireless camera system to check your gutters for debris and blockages. The survey will provide peace of mind for you to be able to see the inside of your gutters.

The survey will check which parts of your gutters need cleaning and which parts are already functioning correctly. Carrying out the survey means that you are only paying for the gutter cleaning that you actually need. I will never charge for a service that is not required.

A gutter survey costs £25 for me to visit and assess your gutters, provide you with a copy of the photographs and prepare a no obligation quotation for any services that are required.
The images taken during the survey are yours to keep, so that even if you decide not to proceed with having your gutters emptied at this time, you know exactly how well your gutters are functioning.

2) Gutter emptying – how does it work?

I use the professional skyVac gutter cleaning system to empty my customers gutters. It is very important to note that not all gutter cleaners in Pembrokeshire use this type of equipment. Using a skyVac is a safe, effective set up which enables me to access gutters up to 40ft high. It also means that even if you have a conservatory or difficult to access gutters, I am able to clear them for you.

You can read more about the skyVac system from the manufacturer here.
This versatile tool enables the suction of moss, twigs, pine needles and leaves to be safely removed from your gutters.

3) A home insurance requirement?

Some home insurance providers warn that keeping on top of routine property maintenance is important for home owners to consider – especially if they should need to make a future claim.

Churchill carried out some research in 2010 on how some householders are ignoring important property maintenance.

“The results show that 49 per cent of householders do not clear or clean their gutters and downpipes, which if left, could cause extensive water damage to bricks, rot windows and cause damp”…

“Keeping your home in a good state of repair is essential, as home insurance does not cover general wear and tear.”

When a gutter survey is carried out, I always provide a fully dated invoice to show that you have had this work carried out. If you should require your gutters to be emptied, you can keep the before and after photographs provided as proof of work having been carried out, as well as the dated invoice showing exactly when the work was completed.

4) What else may I need to consider?

You may decide to have your windows and fascias cleaned after a gutter clean has been completed in order to have the whole of your house looking the very best it can be.
